Field Day

Field day was AWESOME!!!! Mrs. Erexson even played capture the flag! What a great day!

Bison Ranch

Cook's Bison Ranch was a lot of fun. We learned a lot about how the Native Americans would have used different parts of the bison in their everyday life. They also had the opportunity to feed the bison treat pellets. What a GREAT afternoon!

STEM Boat Building

Group boat building for part one of our field trip was a success!

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement has been such a great educational opportunity for our kids. On our last session Mrs. Carpenter gave each kid a goodie bag and their certificate for participating in the program. We learned a lot and a wonderful time during JA.

Music Program

All of the kid's hard work paid off Monday night at the music program. They looked awesome all dressed up and on stage! I was so proud of all of them!

Mayor Handshoe

What a lovely time we had when the mayor came to visit with our class last Friday. She was so patient with all of our questions and told the kids a lot about being the mayor and her role in the community. Thank you Mayor Handshoe  for taking the time to come out to school and talk to us today! We appreciate all you do for us in the community!

Homemade Candy Jar

So I used my artsy craftiness to make Miss Panelli a candy jar for a going away present from the class. It turned out pretty good if I do say so myself! I had all the kids put their fingerprint (gumball) on the bottom of the jar. Their name is written next to their gumball. It will be something she can take to her future classroom to always remember the group of kids that she worked with during her student teaching! We will miss her a lot! Good luck Miss Panelli!

And they fly away...

We set them free! It was neat to see them fly away after observing them in the classroom for so long. It was sad but neat all at the same time! We hope they will be happy in the great outdoors!

Butterfly Project Update

The Caterpillars are growing and moving along in this picture.

Here the caterpillars have started to move into their "J" shape. This is where they will make their chrysalis.

All of them are currently in the chrysalis state and we are waiting on them to hatch!

Area and Perimeter

Kids were able to show their knowledge and understanding of area and perimeter this week. They were able to do this by making colleges of different areas and perimeters. Students were to choose a card out of the box and then show their understanding by creating what the card said. Each and everyone of them did a GREAT job!

JA 5-1-15

Today in JA Mrs. Carpenter talked to the kids about voting. The kids had a make believe scenario presented to them. They walked through a decision tree about the pros and cons of the three ideas presented and then they were given the opportunity to vote. Each student then got to wear a I Voted sticker. Unfortunately we did have some kids that marked more than one item on their ballot so it didn't count in the voting process.

NEU Convo

Monday we had Dr. Corbin come in and talk to the school about what it takes to become a doctor. The kids were able to find out what classes Dr. Corbin took in college and about how many years he had to be in school :)
